My bags are packed
I'm standing at the door
My little one just wants to hug some more
He doesn't understand
I must go to protect our land
His mother cries
It's time to go
I turn and walk so slow
Out the door
Maybe, to see them no more
My heart is breaking
I must make sure
My little one will not need to go to war.
Just when I think I have forgotten how it feels, how much it hurt, to leave my young family so many years ago, God gives me a reminder like this. Only this time, God gave me some words to write down. May they help whoever He has planned to read them.
